Jo LeRue Todd retired from teaching in the A.I.S.D. after serving for five years as Associate Director of Orchestras at Lamar High School and as Head Director of Orchestras at Shackelford Junior High School for 15 years. While at Shackelford, her orchestras consistently earned Sweepstakes ratings at U.I.L. and ranked in the top eight orchestras in Texas seven times. Her Lamar and Shackelford orchestras were invited to perform in Washington, D.C., and her Shackelford orchestra performed in Chicago at the Midwest Clinic. Mrs. Todd has been a guest clinician and state-wide adjudicator of solo/ensemble, concert, and sight-reading contests as well as of All-State tape and chair auditions. She earned her Bachelor of Music Education degree, with a minor in violin, from Texas Christian University, and she did graduate study through Temple University in Philadelphia. Mrs. Todd is a former Texas All-State violinist and former member of the Fort Worth Symphony.  She began her teaching career as a junior-high and high school director in the Spring Branch I.S.D. in Houston. She is a former conductor of a division of the Youth Orchestra of Greater Fort Worth. Mrs. Todd has been on the U.T.A. Summer Strings faculty and has taught private lessons in Houston, Fort Worth, and Arlington. Her professional affiliations include Mu Omicron, Mu Phi Epsilon, Texas  Music Educators Association, Texas Orchestra Directors Association, Texas Music Adjudicators Association, and the TCU Guild.
