Brian Youngblood is the Associate Director of Bands at TCU. He received
his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Abilene Christian University
and his Master of Percussion Performance degree from East Texas State
University. Before coming to TCU, he taught in the public schools
for twelve years. He spent his first ten years teaching in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford
ISD at L.D. Bell High School where his groups received recognition
for outstanding performances at festivals throughout Texas. Mr. Youngblood
has also served on the faculties at the Texas Tech Band Camp, University
of North Texas Drum Line Camp, and Stephen F. Austin Summer Percussion
Camp. He is active as a drill writer, an arranger for marching band/percussion,
and as a clinician and adjudicator. He regularly consults with and
writes shows for 20 high school bands in the five state region. His
drills won three state championships and placed in the finals at
many festivals in the 2000 competitive season. His ensemble responsibilities
at TCU include the Horned Frog Marching Band, the Symphonic Band,
and the Men's and Women's Basketball Bands.
