Gerald Gabel is a composer, conductor, educator, and author whose works have been recognized by grants and fellowships from numerous state, regional and national organizations. He has been a guest composer at universities throughout the US and in Europe. His music has been performed in Europe and Japan and throughout the US and is published by Seesaw Music Corporation.

Besides compositional activities, Gabel has published articles in ex tempore and Revue Musicale and his book, Aspects of Musical Texture, will be published in the near future. Dr. Gabel teaches theory, composition, electro-acoustic music, co-directs the Festival of Contemporary Music, is founder and director of the Upchurch Studio for Electro-Acoustic Music and the department's computer lab, has organized the TCU Electronic Arts and New Music Ensembles and is Division Chair for Composition and Technology.
