Jon Burgess, Associate Professor of Trumpet,
taught previously at Morehead State University
in Kentucky for twelve years. Dr. Burgess'
educational background includes degrees from
the University of Illinois (BM), the University
of Kansas (MM), and Arizona State University
(DMA).
He has performed as a member of the Florida Orchestra as well as the National Repertory Orchestra, and the American Wind Symphony. He has played extra with the Phoenix Symphony, San Diego Symphony and Charlotte (SC) Symphony Orchestra.
Some of the chamber music ensembles he has performed with include the Kentuckian Brass and Percussion Ensemble, The King's Brass and the Timbre Brass Quintet. Dr. Burgess was recently appointed Pedagogical Topics editor for the International Trumpet Guild Journal and chosen to host the 2003 International Trumpet Guild Conference.
