Julie Pummill Dean is an Instructor in Music Theory and Ear- Training at TCU and accompanist for the TCU Men’s and Women’s Ensemble. She is also a certified Music Together and Musikgarten teacher in the TCU Early Childhood Music Program and teaches piano in the TCU Preparatory Program. She holds a Master of Music in Theory and Composition and graduated summa cum laude with her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Texas Christian University. During her studies she was awarded the Presser Scholarship, the Senior Scholar in Music, and the Winesanker Award.
Julie has been a vocal soloist with the Santa Fe Desert Chorale, the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra’s Concerts in the Garden, TCU Jazz Band, TCU Chorale, First United Methodist Choral Union and has recorded over one thousand songs for educational music publishers. She has performed over 80 concerts nationwide with her mother, Janet, and two sisters, Amy and Sallie, in a four piano/four voice ensemble called Clavivoce. Previously Julie has been a private vocal coach for Crowley ISD and Boswell ISD and a presenter for the Silver Burdett Ginn Texas Adoption campaign for music textbooks. She is a member of the Early Childhood Music and Movement Association, Pi Kappa Lambda, Golden Key International Honor Society, Alpha Lambda Delta, and Mu Phi Epsilon.
