Julie Dean holds a Master of Music in Theory and Composition and graduated summa cum laude with her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Texas Christian University as a student of Jose Feghali. During her studies she was awarded the Presser Scholarship, the Senior Scholar in Music, and the Winesanker Award. Julie has been a vocal soloist with the Santa Fe Desert Chorale, the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra's Concerts in the Garden, TCU Jazz Band, TCU Chorale, First United Methodist Choral Union and has recorded over one thousand songs for educational music publishers. She has performed hundreds of concerts nationwide with her mother, Janet, and two sisters, Amy and Sallie, in a four piano/four voice ensemble called Clavivoce.
Currently at TCU Julie teaches Ear Training, From Rock to Bach, Early Childhood Music, and Piano. Previously she has taught Music Theory, served as accompanist for the TCU Menís and Womenís choirs, vocal coach for local public schools, and a presenter for the Silver Burdett Ginn Texas Adoption campaign for music textbooks. Julie is a certified Music Together teacher and registered Musikgarten teacher. She is a member of the Early Childhood Music and Movement Association, Fort Worth Music Teachers Association, Pi Kappa Lambda, Golden Key International Honor Society, Alpha Lambda Delta, and Mu Phi Epsilon.
