Janet Whitcomb Pummill, Professor of Professional Practice and Coordinator of Collaborative Piano, Texas Christian University, has achieved a national reputation and is in great demand as accompanist, collaborative and solo artist throughout the country for concerts, recitals, conventions, and honor and all-state choirs.  She has had wide acclaim for her accompanying skills by many conductors including Robert Shaw.   Paul Salamunovich has written, “Janet epitomizes the perfect choral accompanist.”  Mrs. Pummill has had five of her choral compositions premiered by the New York Pops in Carnegie Hall. Her compositions are published by Colla Voce, Inc., Carl Fischer, Inc. and Hal Leonard Corporation.  Her composition, “Rapture of the Year” was premiered and performed for the “Rapture of the Year”  Faculty and Friends concert last November.

Mrs. Pummill's accompaniments and arrangements are featured in numerous CDs distributed in schools nationwide in the Silver Burdett Ginn Making Music series.  She sang with the Robert Shaw Institute/Festival Singers for several seasons including the final institute gathering in Gramat, France as well as the Desert Chorale of Santa Fe. 

As a church organist from the age of twelve in her hometown of Andrews, Texas, she has served many years as full time and guest organist in various parts of the country. She is presently Associate Organist at University Christian Church, Fort Worth.

 Janet and her three daughters tour as a performing ensemble of four pianos and four voices entitled ClaviVoce.  Her degrees are from the University of North Texas and the University of Illinois.  She has taught on the music faculties of Wingate College, Queens College, and the University of Illinois.
