Janet Whitcomb Pummill, Associate Professor of Professional Practice and Coordinator of Accompanying, Texas Christian University, has achieved a national reputation and is in great demand as accompanist, collaborative and solo artist throughout the country for concerts, recitals, conventions, and honor and all-state choirs. She has fifteen performances in Carnegie Hall to her credit and has had four of her choral arrangements premiered by the New York Pops. Ms. Pummill has arrangements published by Colla Voce Music, Inc., and Carl Fischer, Inc.
Mrs. Pummill's accompaniments and arrangements are featured in numerous CDs distributed in schools nationwide in the Silver Burdett Ginn Music Education series. She sang with the Robert Shaw Institute/Festival Singers for several seasons including the final Institute gathering in Gramat, France as well as the Desert Chorale of Santa Fe.
As a church organist from the age of twelve, she has served many years as full time and guest organist. She is frequently called upon to create accompaniments from the full orchestration of masterworks by a wide range of composers.
Janet and her three daughters tour as a performing ensemble of four pianos and four voices entitled ClaviVoce. Their CDs include Live from Fort Worth, The Gift of Love and What Cheer. Two more CDs entitled Hymns from the Heart and Treasured Moments feature Mrs. Pummill performing her own piano solo arrangements.
