Ms. Adrian performs on flute, piccolo and alto flute with the Fort Worth Symphony and Casa Manana Musicals. Her solo appearances each year include recitals and concerti with local orchestras, on subscription and tour concerts. A Dallas review from the "Concerts in the Gardens" series stated "...the real treat of the evening proved Karen Adrian's masterful performance of the Goldfinch in Vivaldi's Flute Concerto in D. Her playing was so beautiful it simply defies description...some of the most beautiful chamber music you have ever heard...".

She previously performed with the Dallas Symphony, the Toledo Symphony and in the Colorado Philharmonic. Ms Adrian is featured as flutist on a newly recorded CD with the Broadway Festival Chorus and Brass A Festival of Hymns, and with soprano Lynda Poston-Smith on Steal Away Home and Sigh of the Soul. Her first solo CD, Flute Fantasies and Favorites was released last year and contains many of her favorite teaching and performing flute works; all were chosen from the Texas UIL Prescribed Music List.

Ms. Adrian received Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from Indiana University where she graduated with Highest Honors. She was the first flutist to be awarded the prestigious Performer's Certificate from Indiana University and more recently received the American Airlines Distinguished Musician Award. A focus of Professor Adrian's flute studio incorporates encouragement in good "flute ergonomics" including good health, good posture and finding the most natural approach to flute playing for each individual.
