Tamás Ungár, Professor of Piano, has earned worldwide
acclaim for his powerful performances and innovative programming.
Throughout his extensive career he performed in Australia, Brazil,
Canada, Colombia, England, Germany, Hungary, Holland, Hong Kong,
Japan, Korea, New Zealand, People's Republic of China, Romania,
Taiwan, and the United States. Dr. Ungár studied with Alexander
Sverjensky at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, with Lajos Hernádi
at the Liszt Academy, Budapest, and György Sebök at Undiana
University where he earned his DM. As the first performing musician
ever to receive the coveted British Leverhulme Fellowship, he served
as Artist-in-Residence at York University during the 1984-85 season.
