Request for Nordan Young Artist Award Audition
2011 - 2012 (for students entering TCU Fall 2012)
Nordan Young Artist Awards are open to
entering freshmen of superior talent who
plan to major in music. Majors in performance, music education or composition are encouraged.
Students who satisfy criteria for renewal
will be designated Nordan Scholars and receive
the award for the remainder of their undergraduate
program; renewable for up
to three years. Nordan awardees in music
will be considered for
full tuition awards
provided they submit the Free Application
of Financial Student Aid (FAFSA) by March
15, 2011.
A completed application form and
a DVD video preliminary
audition must be received in the School
of Music office by December 1, 2011.
Following screening, successful applicants will be
notified December 22, 2011 by mail of
their eligibility to perform in the on-campus
auditions. Those final auditions
will be held at TCU on January
21, 2012,
and must be performed in person.
Students not chosen to participate in the
Nordan Auditions are encouraged to audition
on other February or March audition days for School of Music acceptance/scholarships
or for ensemble scholarship
awards in their
area of study. Call (817) 257-7602 for additional
information.
REMINDER: Acceptance as
a music major requires the completion of
both the School of Music
application and the general TCU application.
However, one audition will suffice for
both acceptance as a major and consideration
for scholarships. A completed
TCU admissions application together with
teacher and counselor evaluations must be
postmarked
no later than December 15 in order to
be considered for any ACADEMIC scholarship
awards. MUSIC scholarships will be considered
by audition through the spring semester.
