THE FESTIVAL
Director: Dr. Misha Galaganov
The Chamber Music Roundup in Ft. Worth provides an opportunity for amateur musicians of all levels to play with top professional musicians, to enjoy working in chamber music groups with other music lovers, and to learn great compositions written for small ensembles. The workshop will begin with registration at 9:00 am, Monday, January 5, 2009 and will conclude after the participants' recital on Saturday, January 10th at 7:30 pm.

STRUCTURE
One of the unique aspects of the festival is that amateurs work together with faculty members, as colleagues, in rehearsals and performances.
Other features of the festival:
Two Ensembles: Each participant will play in two different ensembles, one rehearsing in the morning, and the other in the afternoon. Each of the ensembles will include one top class professional musician to supervise and lead, as well as play in the group. Participants are provided with music in advance.
Orchestra and Chamber Music Reading: A small orchestra reading session will be offered three mornings and a chamber music sight-reading session wil be arranged for each afternoon. Both of these sessions are optional.
History of ChamberMusic: An extended education class - open to the public - is offered at no additional charge. This year, the class is exploring chamber music for instruments and voice by a variety of composers from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries (such as Bach, Mozart, Brahms and Stravinsky) through historical lectures, in-class demonstrations, pre-concert talks, and discussions.
